The perennial gardens along Queen Anne Avenue at Galer, Boston, and McGraw have graced the heart of our hilltop neighborhood for 15 years now. They’ve come a long way since PPQA volunteers first planted them in May 2009.
The City created the garden space. However, the City does not take care of the gardens. Neighborhood volunteers continue to lovingly care for them. It’s YOUR contributions to Picture Perfect Queen Anne that pay for plants, mulch, water, professional watering and maintenance. It’s YOUR support that has kept the gardens healthy and vibrant for 15 years. It’s YOUR ongoing support that will ensure the gardens continue to thrive in 2025.
How Your Donations Support the Gardens
This chart illustrates the expenses Picture Perfect Queen Anne incurred during 2023 to maintain the gardens. Our two largest costs (greater than 75% of our total expenses) go to the City of Seattle for watering and toward monthly professional garden maintenance.
We strive to keep our administrative costs low (below 3% of expenditures) and focus our efforts on ensuring our gardens thrive.

Alternative Ways to Donate
Donate from my IRA
Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs) are distributions from your Individual Retirement Account (IRA) made directly to a qualified nonprofit organization without having the distribution counted as taxable income. This is a savvy way for those needing to take a yearly Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) from their traditional IRA to maximize their charitable impact.
